β‘ Habits That Actually Help You Move Through Uncertainty
Mindset matters, but without habits to back it up, it's hard to actually move. Three key habits make a real difference in uncertain territory:
1. The Visceral Draft
Every morning, spend five minutes writing raw thinking on an uncertain topic β data points, early ideas, where momentum is. It's messy, and that's fine. The goal is to see your own thinking clearly so you can share it faster. Watch out: if it turns into a to-do list, the habit isn't working.
2. Respond with Speed
Put your early, incomplete thinking out there rather than waiting for certainty. It's uncomfortable at first, but in uncertain territory, the gold is in learning, not in being right.
3. Pressing
Get in front of real users and teammates early to test genuine excitement and gather data points. Momentum drives motivation.
Also useful: think in prototype, alpha, beta. What's the fastest way to get feedback? Scaling too quickly before you have real momentum is a trap.
