π«οΈ Why Not Knowing Is Actually a Skill Worth Building
Most of us rush through the uncomfortable, fuzzy parts of life just to get back to solid ground. But some of the best outcomes come from staying in that uncertainty long enough to grow.
We have sneaky ways of pulling ourselves back to certainty:
- Telling ourselves we're too busy
- Trying something new, not getting quick results, and quietly drifting back
- Saying 'I'm not good at this' β especially when it matters most
- Dipping a toe in just enough to say we tried
There's also a difference between facing something brand new versus when conditions shift around something you already know. That second one is actually harder.
Watch out for false certainty β when you've done something for a long time, it's easy to sound confident even when the situation is genuinely uncertain.
The goal isn't to love uncertainty. It's to get better at staying in it.
