🥗 Making Fermented Salsa: A Healthy Alternative

LIP #126
Jul 16, 2025

Fermented salsa is a healthy alternative to processed store-bought versions that uses beneficial bacteria from yogurt or kefir instead of relying solely on natural vegetable bacteria.

Key Ingredients:

  • Onions, garlic, tomatoes, cucumber
  • Water and salt
  • 1 tablespoon of yogurt or kefir (fermentation starter)

Simple Process:

  1. Chop and combine all ingredients
  2. Leave outside fridge for 24 hours initially
  3. Store for 1-3 weeks (tastes better as it ferments!)

💡 Pro tip: No need to add extra water - vegetables release their own liquid during fermentation.
