🔍 How to Pick a Fresh Egg
Here's something surprising, in Europe, eggs are not kept in the fridge at the supermarket! By the time you buy eggs at a regular store, they're already 3 to 4 weeks old.
How to check if an egg is fresh:
- Crack it onto a flat surface
- Fresh egg whites stay in a tight circle
- Older egg whites spread out and go watery
- Fresh eggs have a bright orange yolk that stands up tall
- Older eggs have a flat, pale yellow yolk
Important: Never freeze a whole egg! Ice crystals break down its structure, turning it into an unusable watery mess.
