🪞 Knowing Yourself Changes Everything
There is a big difference between reading your environment and reading yourself.
In the military, reading your surroundings is called situational awareness. But self-awareness means understanding yourself within that situation — and both matter before making any decision.
The tricky part? We are always a participant in the situations we are trying to read. Giving advice about someone else's life is easy. Reading our own situation honestly? Much harder.
Here is a chain reaction to watch out for:
- You make yourself feel bad
- You look for someone to blame
- You create conflict that did not need to exist
Self-awareness is not something you figure out once. It is a daily skill you build for the rest of your life — because you are always changing.
Simply noticing this pattern is already a powerful first step.
