Did you know tomatoes are actually a fruit, not a vegetable?

Even though we cook them in savory dishes, they are technically a fruit. They are at their best from June to September and are packed with minerals and nutrients.

Why tomatoes are great in summer:

  • They replace electrolytes lost through sweat
  • They are rich in potassium and sodium
  • They can even help with hangover symptoms caused by dehydration

The sugar myth: You could eat ten tomatoes and still take in less sugar than two mangos or one slice of pineapple.

They also contain vitamin C, which fights inflammation and boosts your immune system.
