🧠 You Cannot Hand Over Your Brain

LIP #284
Jul 04, 2026

Here is something really important: you cannot let other people do your thinking for you. That includes parents, teachers, mentors, and yes, even AI and the internet.

Think about walking into Times Square when you are starving and trying to eat healthy. Everywhere you look there is junk food and flashing signs. That is what your brain deals with every single day. Distractions are not rare — they are the default setting of the world.

Here is the proof that this matters. A team of 250 engineers from the best schools could not build a successful mobile app. Then three people, including someone just learning to code, built one in four months — hitting one million downloads in ten months.

What made the difference? They trained their own judgment. They planned ahead by looking one week, one month, and three months out. No distractions, just their own minds working through the problem.

The everyday struggle — showing up and fighting through it — is what actually builds you. Not the one big story you tell people later.
