Aug 07, 2025
Making focaccia at home is totally doable! Here's what you need to know:
What you need:
- Pre-prepared dough, a tray, and parchment paper
- Remove rings before handling the dough!
Key techniques:
- Use lots of olive oil - seriously, never too much
- Pinch the dough to create bubbles
- Let it sit longer for more air to develop
Toppings:
- Mix tomato paste with olive oil (paste, not sauce - focaccia is thick!)
- Add fresh rosemary mixed with oil to prevent burning
- Press tomatoes into the dough so they don't burn
- Finish with Maldon flake salt
Baking: 400°F for 20 minutes. Let it rest before cutting!
