The Best Natural Protein Sources You Might Be Overlooking 🧀

Some of the best protein sources aren't the ones you'd expect.

Top natural protein sources:

  • Aged hard cheese (like parmesan) — around 30g of protein per 100g, same as chicken! Just watch the sodium.
  • Whey protein — a natural byproduct of cheese-making, dried into powder. Clean versions have short ingredient lists: just milk, egg, and natural flavoring.
  • Nuts — about 8–10g of protein, plus omega-3s and fiber. A small handful in the morning activates your metabolism.
  • Iberico ham — even the fat is good! It contains oleic acid, which melts at body temperature and won't clog your arteries.

Watch out: Stretchy string cheese from the supermarket is often NOT real cheese — it's a dairy product made with thickeners and pasteurized milk, with no real fermentation.

Real cheese = fermented, aged, and full of natural goodness.
