🏆 The Stockdale Paradox: Believe You'll Win AND Do the Work
Have Total Faith AND Do the Hard Work
Here's a powerful idea that sounds like a contradiction: spend less than 5% of your mental energy thinking about the outcome.
Why? Because you can't perfectly map the path from where you are to where you want to be. Life will throw unexpected challenges at you. Trust that the outcome will take care of itself.
This is called the Stockdale Paradox, and it has two parts:
- Have total, unshakeable faith that you will succeed
- Stay completely honest about where you are right now and what work needs to be done
Think of it like preparing for a competition. You can be 100% sure you'll win AND still stress about every detail of your preparation. That's not a contradiction, that's the paradox working.
Remember: you can glide into failure by doing nothing. But you can never glide into success.
