🌟 Real Hope vs. Fuzzy Hope, and Why It Matters
Adam Grant says the thing that helps most during intense stress is not mindfulness - it is hope.
'In hard times, resilience lies in remembering that today's burns may be lighter tomorrow.'
But not all hope is equal. There are two kinds of hope:
- Fuzzy Hope (wrong way): Feeling excited but giving up when things get hard. Positive on the surface but no real substance.
- Earned Hope (right way): Built on past successes and a real belief in the future. You do not need all the answers - just evidence that you can do hard things.
The Bicycle Analogy: You cannot learn to ride a bike by just watching. You have to get on and try, even if you fall. Give yourself permission to learn as you go.
