💪 Doing the Scary Thing Is How Confidence Gets Built

LIP #283
Jun 26, 2026

You don't build confidence by waiting until you feel ready. You build it by doing the scary thing over and over again.

How it actually works:

  • Small wins stack up quietly
  • You often don't notice the momentum until someone else points it out
  • Each scary thing you push through becomes evidence of what you're capable of

"You don't need more confidence. You need more evidence of what you're capable of."

When you fail (and you will):

  • Don't spiral alone — talk it through with someone
  • Reframe it: "I'm glad I tried. Now I know."
  • Even making the same mistake twice is okay — that's how learning actually works

One more truth: You teach what you need to learn. Showing up to share something — even before you feel ready — pushes you to live it more deeply.

Don't opt out. The discomfort is pointing directly at what you need to go after.
