🧠 Your Brain's Secret Autopilot (And How to Take Back Control)
Your brain runs on two systems at the same time:
- 5% Conscious brain - your thinking, logical mind
- 95% Automatic brain - your emotions, gut feelings, and habits
Everyone has automatics - default reactions that fire before you even think. Stress might make you retreat and over-analyze. Conflict might make you go quiet. These patterns were formed over years of experience.
To check in with your automatic brain, try a mental scan. Rate yourself on a scale:
- 0 = Super excited, creative, full of ideas
- 10 = Overwhelmed, panicking, shutting down
- No 5 = There is no neutral. Be honest!
