Two Dangerous Emotional States in Uncertainty:

🥶 Helplessness (Freezing)

  • Diminished ability to read situations
  • Paralyzed decision-making
  • Loss of clear thinking

🔥 Tilt (Forcing with Power)

  • Trying to force outcomes through strength
  • Raising voice or using stronger language
  • Believing pure force will yield results

The Three Major Human Stressors:

  1. Moving your body (smallest stressor)
  2. Learning something new (challenges identity)
  3. Persistent uncertainty (largest by far)

Why Uncertainty is So Stressful:

  • Our minds calculate endless possibilities
  • We're biologically wired to focus on negative outcomes
  • Post-COVID world = exponentially increased uncertainty
  • Creates constant unconscious stress in daily interactions

The Key: Develop awareness to recognize these states early and reset before taking action.
