Two Dangerous Emotional States in Uncertainty:
🥶 Helplessness (Freezing)
- Diminished ability to read situations
- Paralyzed decision-making
- Loss of clear thinking
🔥 Tilt (Forcing with Power)
- Trying to force outcomes through strength
- Raising voice or using stronger language
- Believing pure force will yield results
The Three Major Human Stressors:
- Moving your body (smallest stressor)
- Learning something new (challenges identity)
- Persistent uncertainty (largest by far)
Why Uncertainty is So Stressful:
- Our minds calculate endless possibilities
- We're biologically wired to focus on negative outcomes
- Post-COVID world = exponentially increased uncertainty
- Creates constant unconscious stress in daily interactions
The Key: Develop awareness to recognize these states early and reset before taking action.
