🧠 Self-Sabotage vs. Leading from Weakness: The Fork in the Road
Jensen Huang says 'I wish upon you greatness' - which really means he hopes you experience pain and suffering. Here is why that matters.
The problem with coping tools:
Meditation, breathing, walks - these push negative thoughts away temporarily. But those thoughts hide in the shadows and grow stronger.
The shame solution: One speaker used an AI coach during a conflict and learned something powerful:
- Avoiding shame makes it stronger
- Naming shame out loud makes it weaker
- Simply saying 'I feel shame about this' shrinks its power dramatically
The Swamp concept:
- Excitement - 'This is the best idea ever!'
- Difficulty - 'This is harder than I thought'
- The dark bottom - where most people give up
But like pushing off the floor of a pool, hitting true rock bottom gives you the force to shoot back up. The bottom is never as scary as you imagine.
