⚖️ Balancing 'Better Me' vs 'Better You' for Success
LIP #221
Jul 16, 2025
Every meaningful 'why' has two parts: 'to do A so that B'
The Two Sides:
🏆 Better Me: Building confidence, skills, and capability
❤️ Better You: Helping others and making a difference
Dangers of Imbalance:
- Too much 'Better Me': Successful but unlikeable
- Too much 'Better You': Well-intentioned but incompetent
The Right Approach:
- Develop your skills first ('Better Me')
- Let it naturally spill over into helping others ('Better You')
- Deliberately practice your weaker side until both become automatic
💡 Remember: Like the oxygen mask theory - be selfish before selfless!
