Your brain operates in three time zones:

  • 10% present
  • 50% past
  • 40% future

The biggest mental traps are:

  • 'Over-regret': Obsessing over past decisions you cannot change
  • 'Over-worry': Trying to control distant future outcomes

Both are 'mission impossible' because you cannot change the past or control the future.

The solution is awareness - simply recognizing when you're engaging in these unproductive thought patterns.

Advanced technique: Convert past regret into present action by creating 'future regret' - recognizing that if you don't act now, you'll regret wasting your current opportunity. Focus your energy on what you can actually control: your present actions and decisions.
