⚡ Momentum: The Antidote to Burnout

The opposite of burnout is momentum. When you experience momentum - like in weight loss or exercise - you become energized. It's the inverse of burning out: you put in effort and see returns, creating an energizing cycle.

Key characteristics of momentum:

  • The ability to generate and maintain it is a learnable human skill
  • Speed is crucial for creating momentum
  • Requires combining incremental improvements with bold opportunities
  • Balance small '+1' improvements with bold '+1,000' bets

When you're generating momentum, you first become excited yourself, then others become excited and want to collaborate with you.
